In real life I am a researcher into serious military strategy in East Asia, based in Singapore.
In my lighter moments, however, my heart belongs to discourse analysis and semiotics. I believe that what we say is far less important than the way we say it. As Asia rises, interpreting the subtext of Asian politics will be a big issue for the West. With this blog I am trying to decipher and deconstruct the political spectacle of the rising powers for a (mostly) Western audience. I also do Western politics occasionally, when they’re up to something fun. You can send me e-mail at deng.zichao8 (at) gmail.com.
